Public & street art

Augmented reality art for public spaces (coming soon)

AR experiences are currently in development. This page explains planned functionality without claiming production availability.

What AR will add

Planned AR layers will provide optional digital context for selected artworks, such as stories, audio, and interactive overlays you can choose to open on-site. AR art should add meaning, not distract from the physical work, so releases will be gradual and clearly communicated. Think of it as a guide that appears when you want it, not a mandatory layer.

Current status

The live experience today focuses on public and street art mapping. AR is clearly marked as coming soon until it ships, and we avoid implying availability before it exists. You can still discover local art with the map and contribute missing markers today. If AR is the main reason you are here, join the waitlist so you do not miss the release announcement.

How to stay informed

Use the app and follow updates to see when AR milestones move from roadmap to public release. If you care about augmented reality art in particular, join the waitlist and subscribe so you get clear release notes when features go live. We share concrete status updates when possible and avoid vague hype.

Consent and privacy

AR experiences often rely on camera access and location context. art.kubus keeps analytics consent-gated and avoids collecting unnecessary data. When AR ships, the experience will be opt-in and explained in plain language so you know what is happening. We also respect privacy signals like Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control.

Frequently asked questions

Is AR live right now?

No. AR is in development and not yet available as a production feature. This page will keep saying coming soon until the feature is actually live.

Will AR work on web and mobile?

AR is planned primarily for mobile devices. Details about supported platforms and requirements will be shared when the feature is production-ready and listed in the roadmap.

Do I need to scan anything today?

No. The public art map and street art map work without AR. No scanning is required to use the map, and AR will be optional when it becomes available.

How will you announce AR availability?

We will announce releases through the roadmap and updates. When AR is live, the page will be updated and the feature will be clearly labeled as available, with release notes that describe what changed.

How can I try AR art early when it launches?

Join the waitlist and follow updates. When AR art is production-ready, early access instructions will be shared with clear dates and supported devices.

Will AR collect my personal data?

We avoid collecting unnecessary data and keep analytics consent-gated. AR may need camera permissions to work, but data use will be explained in plain language and remain opt-in.
